Dr. Kevin Gregg (DC, DACM, LAc) is a dual-credentialed Doctor of Chiropractic and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practicing in Southeast Portland, with more than forty years of integrative clinical experience. From his office at the Portland Healing Space (1835 SE 50th Ave), he offers a practice that weaves together Western evidence-based medicine with a deep grounding in mind body traditions: yoga, meditation, acupuncture, Chinese and Tibetan medicine, Ayurveda and panchakarma, homeopathy, chiropractic, and tai chi. He holds certifications in yoga, Permaculture design and the treatment of peripheral neuropathy with acupuncture.
Your journey with Dr. Gregg begins with a comprehensive assessment. He brings four decades of clinical experience and study to his health coaching, and clients benefit from his wide-ranging knowledge of integrative medicine. His approach balances the best of East and West, of ancient and modern, unifying science, art, and philosophy — pairing cutting-edge health science and functional medicine with the wisdom of the traditional healing arts from around the world.
For more than twenty years, Dr. Gregg has guided hundreds of clients through the Total Life Cleanse, an individualized, seasonally adapted program for rejuvenating body and mind that he co-founded with Jonathan Glass. He also offers mind-body medicine mentorship to other practitioners, and keeps a long commitment to accessible care: trained in the LoveYourBrain method, he teaches six-week yoga series as a community service to people recovering from traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Gregg is a healthy living doctor. His aim is healthcare that is individualized, truly health-focused, accessible, and affordable — a vision founded on knowing thyself, fueled by self-care, and informed by a continual process of awareness, connection, and choice. Rather than only putting out acute-care fires, he monitors and coaches clients over extended periods, substantially improving their health and quality of life while lowering their long-term cost of care. His training and experience equip him to guide clients through the often-frustrating maze of medical and health options toward greater wellbeing and engagement — a guide and a pilot, a refuge and a safe port on the way to greater wellbeing of body, mind, and spirit.
Why a Healthy Living Doctor?
Modern healthcare is extraordinary at emergencies and acute crises, yet ill-suited to the slow work of keeping a person well over a lifetime. Our current approach to health is high in cost and progressively less affordable, and too often sub-optimal in the quality of care it delivers. For all its resources Western medicine, has not stemmed a rising tide of preventable chronic disease.
Part of the problem is structural. Care tends to be paternalistic rather than genuinely accountable to patients, and remarkably conservative and slow to change. It is set up in ways that reward doing more procedures rather than achieving better outcomes, and much of its guidance is indexed to populations rather than to the individual person in the room. The result is a built-in imprecision: care designed for the average, delivered to the particular.
A healthy living doctor works differently. Imagine a physician with the time not just to put out your acute-care fires, but to know you — to monitor your health and coach you over months and years, adjusting as your life and body change. That continuity is not a luxury. Sustained, individualized guidance measurably improves health and quality of life, and does so at a significant long-term savings, because so much of what drives cost downstream is preventable upstream.
This is Dr. Gregg’s aim: healthcare that is individualized, democratic, truly health-focused, accessible, and affordable — founded on knowing thyself, fueled by self-care, and informed by an ongoing process of awareness, connection, and choice.
THE DIRECTION THIS IS HEADING
The future of medicine is moving toward exactly this kind of personalized, preventive care — and the tools are arriving to make it precise. Everyday biomonitoring devices now track the body’s rhythms continuously: sleep and wake cycles, heart-rate variability, glucose, body temperature, activity, and recovery. As that stream of personal data becomes richer, it opens the door to the emerging sciences of chronobiology, chronotherapy, and chrononutrition — the study of the body’s internal clocks and the art of working with them.
The insight is simple but profound: when we do something is often as important as what we do. The same meal, the same movement, the same remedy or intervention can help or hinder depending on where it falls in the body’s daily and seasonal cycles. By integrating real-time biomonitoring with these rhythm-based sciences, a healthy living doctor can tailor nutrition, activity, rest, and treatment to each person’s unique physiology and timing — a genuinely individualized medicine that unites the newest science with the oldest wisdom about living in harmony with natural cycles.
This is the horizon Dr. Gregg’s practice is oriented toward: care that is precise, preventive, and deeply personal. It is already taking shape in his work through the circadian, ultradian, and infradian rhythm assessments he offers clients — a first step in mapping each person’s unique timing so that care can be tuned to it.
